  1. HE 162 GUNNERY PRACTICE
  2.  
  3. The Heinkel He 162 "Volksjager" was a 
  4. very small German jet fighter designed 
  5. and built during the closing months of 
  6. World War II.  As a desperate last-gasp 
  7. effort to stem the overwhelming tide of the 
  8. Allied bombing offensive, the leaders of 
  9. the Third Reich envisioned thousands of 
  10. Hitler youth defending their homeland in 
  11. the midget He 162s.  However, due largely 
  12. to the impact of Allied attacks on industrial 
  13. centers, production of the components 
  14. necessary for mass assembly of the 
  15. Volksjager was brought to a near 
  16. stand-still.

  18.                     YOUR MISSION
  19.  
  20. Take off from Husum Luftwaffe airfield 
  21. to intercept two American P-51 Mustangs 
  22. flying low past the field.  There are other 
  23. Allied aircraft flying in this area, so look 
  24. around once you've defeated this pair.  
  25. If you cannot see them in the air, check 
  26. the map for their positions.

  28. Practice deflection shooting against these 
  29. non-agressive opponents.  To be accurate 
  30. in a deflection shot, you must lead your 
  31. target so that your cannon shells intercept 
  32. its line of flight.
  33.  
  34. Your He 162 cannot be damaged and has 
  35. unlimited ammunition.
  36.  
  37. Your mission will not end automatically.  
  38. You must choose to quit.  Please see your
